Central Asia Tour ’25

In summer 2025, Tatjana Masurenko undertook an artistic journey through Central Asia, traveling with both viola and viola d’amore.
The tour began in Dushanbe, where she returned to her birthplace for a series of concerts and a masterclass. Beyond the performances, the stay was marked by encounters with local musicians and a vivid exchange of artistic ideas. During her time in Dushanbe, Tatjana Masurenko also met with members of the Samo Group, an ensemble dedicated to traditional music from the Pamir region. These meetings created a space for dialogue between different musical traditions and sound worlds, grounded in mutual listening and shared curiosity.

Following her time in Tajikistan, Tatjana Masurenko continued her journey to Uzbekistan, with visits to Tashkent, Samarkand, and Bukhara. There, she engaged with musicians and cultural environments deeply shaped by history, architecture, and living musical heritage. Traveling through these cities offered further inspiration and reflection on the relationship between musical past and present, and between Western art music and Central Asian traditions.
Throughout the tour, Tatjana Masurenko performed and traveled with both viola and viola d’amore, instruments that embody her artistic focus on resonance, historical depth, and cultural connection. The journey became not only a concert tour, but an exploration of shared musical roots, artistic exchange, and attentive listening across regions and traditions.
